Who can resist a muddy puddle? With all-in-one suits and wellies on Year 4 @Ladysmith Junior School had a very happy puddle jumping moment. And guess what it’s actually a very educational experience, helping to develop physical, social and emotional skills as well as learning to manage risk. The list goes on… there’s so much to learn from a puddle 💦😊 Another great HOP Tuesday @Bowhill Primary School with year 6. Winter sunshine ☀️ made a perfect day to light the fire and enjoy tasting freshly picked lemon balm tea and some unadulterated bonfire popcorn🍿🫖☀️😊 It all began back in the summer thanks to a generous donation of scaffold boards from #mjsscaffolding. And now we have a digging bed @Ladysmith Junior School where all sorts await to be discovered under the soil…. worms are currently the favoured treasure 🪱💛😊 With apples donated all the way from Wales and an apple scrater and press borrowed from @exeter_lot we had a great day at Ladysmith Junior School with Year 3 & 4 - there's nothing like fresh apple juice 🍎🍏😋😊 Thank you to Hele's Educational Trust for a grant awarded to Bowhill Primary School supporting HOP's Winter Outdoors programme. We are delivering weekly outdoor sessions to Year 6 groups and after Christmas Year 2 will join in too. No matter what the weather we get outside and discover all that nature has to offer right outside the classroom door 😊🌱⛅🌨🌬❄ Nature connection @Bowhill Primary School - often it's just about spending a moment noticing the rain drops collecting on nasturtium leaves and how much fun it is to roll them about! 🍀💦😊 We often fear fungi (and for good reason, for some are extremely poisonous), but simply looking and marvelling at their strange and beautiful forms is hard to avoid and will cause you no harm! These are a few fungi we have found this term during HOP sessions at Bowhill Primary School and Ladysmith Junior School 😊 This autumn HOP’s outdoors programme at Ladysmith Junior School and Bowhill Primary School has been made possible with generous support from @devon_cf, The Schreier Foundation, @devoncountycouncil Locality Budget, Ladysmith PTA, Bowhill PTFA as well as donations from Bowhill Primary School @crowdfunderuk, Exeter Community Lottery, Highmead Farm and Robinsons News. Thank you 🙏😊🍁🌞🌦🍂 With some poles, tarps and logs it is incredible what can be done! Our den building day with Year 6 groups at Bowhill was physical and creative, it demanded team work, problem solving and determination. It was a chance to calculate and manage risk. And when the dens were finally built - what a great sense of achievement! 😊🌿🌼

We’re proud to announce that we’ve achieved Level 1 and Level 3 of the Royal Horticultural Society School Gardening Awards! We have worked incredibly hard to grow our gardening knowledge, improve our green spaces and enjoy the many benefits of learning through nature.
